The Charlotte area includes some of the best high schools in North Carolina and the Southeast region. Students attending Myers Park, Ardrey Kell, Providence, Weddington, South Meck, Marvin Ridge, Charlotte Country Day, Charlotte Latin, Providence Day, and several other top-notch high schools have access to excellent instruction, state-of-the-art learning technology, and academically competitive environments. Yet, while many Charlotte area students have capitalized upon such advantages to develop college-ready credentials, most experience difficulty accessing college-related support, specifically the support needed to earn admission into suitable, good-fit colleges and universities.
Recent estimates by the National Association for College Admission Counseling indicate that student-to-counselor ratios at Charlotte area high schools are approaching 400-to-1, and suggest that Charlotte area students are likely to receive only 30 minutes of individual college guidance from their respective high schools each year—not nearly the amount of time and attention most students need to successfully move through the college admissions process.
I aim to meet the outstanding admission-related needs of Charlotte area families, particularly by offering a full array of admissions counseling services, including, but not limited to, college application review, college essay coaching, resume development, college interview preparation, standardized testing strategies, extracurricular and course planning, and financial aid and scholarship guidance.
I have worked with families living throughout the Charlotte area, including Myers Park, Providence Plantation, Madison Park, Ballantyne, Cotswold, Stonehaven, Plaza Midwood, Dilworth, Piper Glen and other Charlotte locations. The admissions process at selective colleges and universities may have become more complex and competitive, but it does not have to prove a more stressful experience.
